Tzofirm Shnat Sherut Program
Volunteer of the Month - April '13
We would like to congratulate the kids of the Tzofirm Shnat Sherut Program for being
nominated as our Volunteer of the Month for April 2013!
During our Passover food packaging event for the New York
Board of Rabbis, their hard work and enthusiasm helped us pack over 200 boxes
of kosher food! The quick work of these young kids allowed for all packages to
be shipped out in time for Passover.
All of these packages were successfully delivered to various
prisons throughout New York. No matter a person’s current situation, everyone deserves
a proper Passover meal. These kids helped provide these people an opportunity
to recognize Passover with the proper kosher products to have this traditional
meal.
This group, also known as the Israeli Scouts, is part of a
larger youth movement in Israel called the Tzofirm Movement. This teen group
volunteers year round to be closer to their community, as well as expanding on their
perspective on world values and strengthening their leadership skills. Not only
does this amazing group of young adults do great work for our community, but they
have a great time volunteering and meeting new people!
We like to thank the kids of the Tzofirm Shnat Sherut Program for all their great work with Met
Council, as well as all they are doing for our community!
Congratulations and keep up all the good work!
