Take Action Round Up: June 8

Some of us living in New York are lucky enough to have garden space, and perhaps with so much rain this season you are looking at a bumper crop of zucchini. Consider donating your excess vegetables to food pantries who have trouble getting fresh produce to feed their clients. Learn more about this project at AmpleHarvest.

Mother Jones, Campus Progress, and WireTap have proclaimed their first annual Hellraisers awards. They are taking nominations for "noteworthy student campaigns and other creative feats of campus activism." Actually, you don't have to be in college to be involved, as long as you are a student you are eligible.

Are you a graphic designer with altruistic tendencies?
cause/affect is a biennial graphic design competition which celebrates the work of designers and organizations who set out to positively impact our society. All work entered in the competition must promote or support social good and actively engage in enriching our lives. All we ask is that it doesn’t contribute directly to the profit of a commercial organization. This is a competition for do-gooders, who do good work. And it is open to all.
