Met Council proudly opened another housing facility for low-income seniors at 385 Third Avenue about six months ago and on September 19th celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and breakfast for the new tenants. We are happy to say that the event was a wonderful success!
Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Assemblyman Brian Kavanagh, and Councilwoman Rosie Mendez were all on hand to welcome the new tenants and applaud Met Council’s dedication to supplying quality housing to the low-income elderly throughout New York City.
Tenants of the new Third Avenue housing site enjoyed a lovely breakfast and had a chance to express their gratitude to the Met Council staff that worked so hard to see the building through to fruition. This fantastic morning would not have been possible without the efforts of Met Council’s team of volunteers, who mingled with the seniors and helped with set up and clean up. A special thanks goes to James Rooney and the volunteers of Akamai Technologies who helped to make the ceremony truly special for all that attended!
