Hurricane Sandy: Volunteer Opportunity

URGENT NEED: Hurricane Sandy Moving Task Force


Date: Wed. Feb. 27 through Fri., Mar. 1
Time/Details: 11:30am – flexible end time

Description: The Sea & Salt Mission in Coney Island was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, and has been asked to leave their residence by the landlord. The mission has finally found a new location, but are in desperate need of volunteers to help them with the move.  The Sea & Salt Mission is a crucial institution in Coney Island, helping and feeding thousands of people every day – and they need your help to get back to aiding Sandy victims as quickly as possible.

Duties: Volunteers will be responsible for loading boxes from Sea & Salt Mission (1530 Mermaid Ave) and unloading at the Child’s Building warehouse.  Moving van and driver will be provided.  Other duties may include packing and cleaning.

Location: The Sea & Salt Mission: 1530 Mermaid Avenue, Coney Island
Accessible by public transportation. DFNQ Coney Island/Stillwell Avenue
