AmeriCorps Kick Off at Tompkins Sq Park

In celebration of AmeriCorps Week (May 11-18th), Met Council and other supporting AmeriCorps organizations hosted a variety of volunteer projects which were all a success! To start the week off, participating AmeriCorps organizations joined in for a Kick Off event at Tompkins Square Park on Sunday, May 11th. The event consisted of the organizations recruiting for their volunteer projects and with promotion of the AmeriCorps program. In addition, the NY Blood Center Mobile came out and we reached our goal of obtaining 40+ donors. The Kick Off was definitely a success and we hope it will continue to grow in the upcoming years.
